Our recruitment team recently launched the ‘Australian Workers Series’ on YouTube about our colleagues that moved over from the AU to join our UK teams and their experiences. Want to know more? Catch up here!

Some of you may remember Kirsty King our former HR Intern who has now been appointed HR Advisor Lizard Island. Kirsty spent 1 year working for Delaware North Oz on a student visa, and then did a 3 month stint on a pig farm to secure another year’s experience in the land of sunshine and kangaroos! Daniel Evans, HR Business Partner – Parks & Resorts who is pleased to have Kirsty on board called her a ‘star performer’. Congratulations and Good Luck on the new role!

Over the past 3 years, Kirsty is not the only member of our team to head down-under to experience Delaware North in a hotter climate

Jen Dunkley, who worked for us on the London Stadium opening and Rugby World Cup team, is now the Sport Service HR Business Partner, based in Melbourne. Paul Vesper, who joined us to deliver the World Championship Athletics in 2017, is now the General Manager at Melbourne Park, home to the Australian Open and many more epic events throughout the year.

Both Sally Kent and Jiten Patel, Amanda Gale, Richard Craig, Mark Pincham and Sue Creed have taken secondments to team Australia, for the Commonwealth Games and Australian Open respectively. We have also facilitated 1 year student visa placements in the Australian Parks business for a few intrepid travellers who have found their way to Lizard Island and El Questro – learning new skills and the meaning of life, whilst also benefitting from the beauty of touring the southern hemisphere.

With a new casino venture about to open in Darwin, busy travel and sports hubs in many main cities, plus the beauty of some of Australia’s national parks, it’s proving to be a great partnership working on our 2-way career path programme with our Aussie friends.
