Delaware North are looking for a hands on leader to head up the Safety side of our business to invest, develop, implement and maintain a culture of safety within our organisation.
 

We are an exciting and dynamic business that has been in sports and leisure catering for over 100 years. We care about our people, guests and clients and want to ensure that they are safe whilst working at or visiting any one of our 13 locations across the country.

The Head of Safety plays an integral role in the operational management, internal policy and technical service of Food Hygiene and Health and Safety, championing risk management and compliance practices, whilst engaging with people-focused policies across the business.

Reporting into the UK Managing Director and advising our UK Executive Team, responsibilities for this role will include conducting annual food hygiene and health and safety audits at all of our locations, ensuring that all related documentation is kept relevant and up to date. There will be a key focus on providing technical expertise to the operational managers across the business and working closely with external bodies and clients to ensure all of the above is delivered line in the company’s legal obligation.

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 3 years’ experience working in a role at a similar level and be qualified as follows:

NEBOSH National Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety; or

Masters/ Degree level in Environmental Health/ Occupation Health & Safety Manager or similar; or

IOSH / CIEH Level 4 qualified: or

City & Guilds Level 5 (NVQ) Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety Practice; or

Technical Member of Institute of Occupational Safety and Health member; or

Equivalent qualification and experience

The ideal candidate does not need to come from a sport service and eventing background however experience working in large venues with high volumes of business levels would be an advantage. The successful candidates will be required to work evenings and weekends in accordance with the fixtures and event calendar at each of our sites.
